The Urban Gypsies bring the whimsical and innovative mountain dulcimer player/builder Joellen Lapidus together with the musical talents of violinist Yvette Devereaux and bass player Oliver Steinberg. They pride themselves in taking their audience on a musical journey with surprise changes of pace and style. A jazz tune may follow a country song followed by a exquisitely beautiful and quiet instrumental, followed by a lullaby followed by a howling sing a long. They are musical “Urban Gypsies”, wandering the musical landscape, gathering up lovely, inspiring, funny, raucous tunes that help us all feel and express the complex palette of human experience.
Klezmer Juice—a Los Angeles-based Klezmer/Jewish soul band with a healthy dose of Latin flavor, led by International Clarinetist Gustavo Bulgach—provides exactly that.
