THE IDIOMATIQUES/BENEDIKT BRYDERN

Saturday, February 1 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$25

Two fabulous groups in an incredible night featuring virtuoso playing. The Idiomatiques, based in Southern California, have captivated audiences throughout the state and beyond for the past decade. Formed at the suggestion of Benedikt Brydern who helped connect the future members, their musical influences are eclectic, encompassing Rock, R&B, Latin, Bossa Nova, and both Traditional and Modern Jazz, yet their music remains firmly rooted in the style of Django Reinhardt. Benedickt not coincidentally has played on all three of the Idiomatiqies albums and will join them for their set of music.

Their song “C’est La Vie” earned them the unique distinction of being the only Gypsy Jazz band to feature on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart, where it remained in the top 30 for eleven weeks. The band members have also contributed to the Sharmat/Andersson “Strings” albums, which have been a staple on SiriusXM’s Escape channel for the past four years.

Members from The Idiomatiques have performed with notable Gypsy Jazz musicians such as Moses Rosenberg, Fapy Lafertin, Angelo Debarre, Robin Nolan, Paulus Schäfer, Joscho Stephan, Samuel Farthing among others. Their versatile talents extend beyond the Gypsy Jazz realm, with collaborations including Boyz II Men, Ziggy Marley, David Foster, Kenny Loggins and more.

The band proudly announced the official release of their third album, “Indigo Nocturne” at the most Djangofest Northwest.
