DESCRIPTION:After a packed show at Boulevard Music twice already\, this all-star lineup returns for round three! What began as a private songwriting circle has become a public sensation— with sold out shows at the Coffee Gallery Backstage (twice!)\, and Severin Browne’s First Friday\, Now\, long-time friends and storytellers Tracy Newman\, Art Podell\, Severin Browne\, John Zipperer\, Ken Holme\, Craig Lincoln\, and newcomer Kevin Kelso bring their original music\, harmony\, and heart back to Boulevard Music in Culver City.  \nThe Roundabout: About the Round:  \nTracy Newman is a TV writer/producer and a singer/songwriter. In 1997\, she won an Emmy and a Peabody Award for co-writing the “coming out” episode of Ellen. Tracy with her band Tracy Newman and theReinforcements has recorded several albums over the years. Art Podell debuted onColumbia Records in 1959 in Greenwich Village\, NY with his then singing partner Paul Potash (The acclaimed “Art and Paul”. Once Art was in California as a solo act\, he became one of the original members of The New Christy Minstrels where he wrote many of their songs. Art’s songs have been recorded by The Smothers Brothers\, Ann Murray and Rod McKuen among many others. Today\, Art continues to write music\, a monthly column for the Folkworks.com Newsletter\, and he hosts a monthly segment of the music show Roots Music and Beyond on KPFK 90.7FM Los Angeles. Severin Browne is a former Motown recording artist and staff songwriter\, Severin continues to enchantaudiences with his clear voice\, masterful guitar playing and finely crafted songs. Since leaving Motown in the mid-seventies\, Severin has had songs recorded by Thelma Houston\, Patti Dahlstrom\, Colin Blunstone\, Twiggy\, and The Dillards. He was at one time in a band with Jackson Browne (his brother)\, in which Severin played drums and Jackson played cornet. That was their elementary school band which lead to bigger things for both of them. John Zipperer’s story reads like the lyrics to his new album\, Devil Rail — a journey through highways\, rivers\, and rails from New England to the Deep South to the edge of Hollywood. John’s solo sets are known for their authenticity\, warmth\, and connection. Don’t miss this chance to experience one of Southern California’s finest Americana voices up close and personal. Ken Holme writes songs inhabited by large cats\, yappy dogs\, future newlyweds\, exlovers\, and the temporarily confused.Peter Krantz\, of the Camarillo Café Music Series says: “Ken Holme writes some marvelously quirky songs\, and delivers them earnestly\, in a sometimes humorous\, sometimes poignant style. He’s currently working on a new album called “Are We There\, Yet?” Produced by the fabulous Nick Kirgo. Craig “Linc” Lincoln has been playing guitar since the dawn of the manned space program. His songs have been called\, “wry\, thoughtful observations drawn from a life rich in experience and passion\, accompanied by a variety of tasty acoustic guitar styles.” A veteran of CGBackstage as 1/2 of the duo\, Sabrina & Craig Linc is pleased to return to his solo roots as a member of this gifted cohort. Kevin Kelso\, an award-winning singer-songwriter\, loves to write story songs. He finds his subjects everywhere: a family struggling in the Irish potato famine\, the metaphysical significance of turtles\, a homesick Indian mathematician\, a contra dancing in a New England town\, even a love song to a Roomba. His style is mainly folk-inspired\, and he’s a lifelong fan of Arlo Guthrie\, but among his hundreds of songs you’ll hear influences of John Prine\, Carole King\, and Tom Lehrer. DESCRIPTION:Stan Ayeroff \nWhile studying composition at the California Institute of the Arts\, Stan fell in love with swing music. He went on to write books on Django Reinhardt\, Charlie Christian\, and Benny Goodman. He has performed with Texas R&B singer Delbert McClinton and was co-musical director (with Danny Elfman) of the original “Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo.” Stan has been the Orchestral Supervisor for Rod Stewart\, Page and Plant\, and The Who. He conducted a chamber orchestra for Heart’s concert video\, “The Road Home\,” on Capitol Records. Stan was also the musical director for a series of projects featuring Roger Daltrey of The Who. Stan was the leader of the band “Dream Street\,” a chamber jazz group\, and “The Snapdaddys\,” a modern swing group. Stan wrote six books of solo guitar arrangements for Warner Bros. Publications\, including “Play It Again\, Stan” and “The Best of Gershwin.” Having played thousands of solo guitar gigs\, a standout moment was having Sean Connery and Sophia Loren dancing together to his solo guitar playing. Stan’s latest book\, “Beyond Chord Melody – The Art of Arranging and Performing for Solo Guitar\,” is published by Mel Bay Publications. \nDani Vargas \nDani Vargas is an acoustic and electric guitarist\, composer\, and music educator originally from Santiago\, Chile\, and currently based in Los Angeles\, California. Known for his versatility\, he moves seamlessly between intricate solo fingerstyle acoustic arrangements\, Gypsy jazz\, Swing\, progressive metal\, and rock. Both of his parents are folk musicians in Chile which inspired his interest in music and art. DESCRIPTION:Scott Tennant\, who is a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and the current head of USC’s classical guitar department\, presents in concert some of the schools premier students. The concert will include everything from quartets to duets and solo performances from this amazing group of players. Repertoire will include pieces as far back as the Baroque era and travel through time up to pieces from the modern era featuring modern harmony. The presenter of the show\, Tennant\, is himself considered to be one of the world’s top classical guitarists. Having performed with Tommy Emmanuel\, Chet Atkins\, Les Pau\, and many others. Richard also performs with great Joscho Stephan and Rory Hoffman as the Transatlantic Trio. Chet Atkins referred to Richard as “My Hero”.  \nPat Bergeson is a versatile guitarist and harmonica player\, and his style incorporates Jazz\, Blues\, rock and finger style guitar. He is known for his session and touring work with a variety of artists. He has recorded with Lyle Lovett\, Alison Krauss\, Chet Atkins\, Jerry Reed\, Dolly Parton\, Peter Frampton\, Michael McDonald\, Tommy Emmanuel\, Susy Bogguss\, Bill Evans\, Benny Golson\, Joey DeFrancesco\, and many others. He has toured with Chet Atkins\, Lyle Lovett\, Shelby Lynne\, Suzy Bogguss\, Madeleine Peyroux\, Tommy Emmanuel\, and is currently touring with Peter Frampton’s band. DESCRIPTION:The Dennis Witcher 80th Birthday Bash Featuring Mike Witcher and BIG TIME Special Guests  \nFor twenty-five years\, The Witcher Brothers performed and toured across the western states playing most all of the major Bluegrass festivals (and many not so major festivals) and with Dennis at the helm singing lead vocals\, playing mandolin\,and writing\, or co-writng (with Tony Recupido) many of the band’s most notable songs. After The Witcher Brothers disbanded\, Dennis continued to perform with Tony Recupido as Witcher & Recupido. As a mult-instrumentalist he has also been a much sought after addition to many other local Bluegrass bands in the LA area. Now\, he’s brought together an exciting new gaggle of LA’s finest young musicians to form his newest venture\, DENNIS WITCHER & THE BREW. Tonights show features world class dobro player Mike Witcher who has toured with Peter Rowan\, Laurie Lewis\, and is the suggested dobro player by master Jerry Douglas when he’s not available. THE BREW: ADAM MOSS is an amazing fiddler\, singer & songwriter. When not playing with The Brew\, he’s usually touring with his twin brother David in their hugely popular band\, the Brother Brothers. They had a great writeup in Rolling Stone Magazine. SMITH ALLEN is an extremely talented singer/songwriter and musician. Smith’s voice and vocal stylings are a standout wherever he performs. The warmth of his tenor vocals whether singing lead or harmonies will win over a crowd every time. LIAM LEWIS is a mult-instrumentalist and singer from the LA area. With a background in traditional Celtic music and bluegrass\, Liam has toured the circuit of Scottish Highland Games for the past 8 years with LA based band The Ploughboys\, and main-staged many of California’s Bluegrass festvals with his newgrass band Hot October. His newest duo project Stepwise has just come out with their first full album of original fiddle tunes. ANDY KEATHLEY is the former founder of the LA based band The Get Down Boys. Andy is not only a great singer and songwriter\, he’s also one of the most sought-after guitar players on the LA Bluegrass scene today. He didn’t want Dennis to mention it\, but he recently won first place at the Topanga Banjo & Fiddle Contest for advanced guitar. JORDAN KATZ is a truly fine Banjo player whose talents have been seen on TV shows such as American Idol\, The Late Late Show\, Drop the Mic\, and The Tonight Show. Jordan’s talents don’t stop with the banjo. He’s also an “A Lister” trumpet player\, composer\, bandleader\, music supervisor and all-around great musician. \nAdd to cart	\n			\n \n
