SUMMARY:BANSHEE IN THE KITCHEN—CD RELEASE
DESCRIPTION:CD Release of their new album—”The Last Pint” \nBanshee in the Kitchen plays Celtic music with eclectic skill and merry abandon.Touring and recording since 2002\, the trio has delighted audiences in festivals\, theaters\, living rooms\, and countless other venues from NewYork to Japan. They take traditional Celtic tunes\, find the sweet spot between old and new\, stirring it all up with trademark playfulness and musicality they term “bansheefying”. \nTo do it right\, Celtic music requires a certain amount of sassiness\, a bit of impudence along with strong respect and joyful spirit. The four women of Banshee in the Kitchen know how to balance their audacity with reverence of the art form.\n—Joe Ross\, reviewer\, talentondisplay.com and Bluegrass Unlimited \nNational Champion hammered dulcimer player Brenda Hunter (fiddle\, hammered dulcimer) and Jill Egland (flute\,accordion\, whistle) trade off inspired flights of lead and counter melody overdynamic backing by Kat Edmonson (six and twelvestring guitar\, bouzouki). No strangers to the microphone\, the four trade off lead and backing vocals on a choice selection of songs\, as well as jocularcommentary in between.\n \nhttp://www.bansheeinthekitchen.com \n$17.50Read more

SUMMARY:MARC BERGER + PHIL & DAVID BOROFF (Workshop Also)
DESCRIPTION:A great double bill featuring Marc Berger plus Phil and David Boroff. \nMarc Berger’s life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating and recording his American roots songs\, and exploring remote areas of the desert and mountain West. After signing his first publishing contract while in law school\, he fronted rock bands and performed regularly in New York City clubs like CBGB\, Wetlands\, and The Knitting Factory. All through this period\, he’d find ways to get into the West\, picking up details from fellow wilderness junkies about off the beaten path locales and filing them away for future reference. On one of these trips\, he became intrigued by the cover of THE BIG IT\, a book of short stories by A.B. Guthrie he found on a revolving paperback rack in a Navajo reservation trading post. It got him thinking about using his travels to create a set of songs in the cultural tradition of writers like Guthrie and visual artists like John Ford and Frederick Remington. Marc and Co-Producer Mike Ricciardi now present RIDE\, ten cinematic recordings reflecting his romantic connection to the American West and exploring the value of its myths to contemporary culture. \nMarc’s performed at Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival and The Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals and has opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts. His song THE LAST ONE was a staple of Richie Havens’ concerts for years and has been quoted in the NY Times and featured on The CBS Evening News. \nPlus great flatpicker Phil Boroff and son David on fiddle. Phil who learned the art of flatpicking directly from flatpicking/bluegrass legend Clarence White. More tasty traditional guitar licks than you can imagine. A  phenomenal flatpicker as well as fingerstyle blues player and clawhammer/old-timey banjo player. Plus David on fiddle who plays everthing from Grapelli like jazz to fabulous bluegrass and traditional styles. Phil will also being doing a workshop on Bluegrass Guitar on Sunday August 4th from 1-3pm. Check out our classes/workshop section for more info.\n \nhttps://marcbergermusic.com \n$17.50Read more

SUMMARY:BILL BURNETT\, BRAD COLERICK\, & DALE LADUKE
DESCRIPTION:Bill Burnett\nTonight Boulevard Music presents three fine singer/songwriters with tons of credits. \nBill Burnett\nBill Burnett is an Emmy and Clio award-winning writer and composer who has crafted songs and comedy material for a wide variety of artists\, including Bette Midler\, Patti Lupone\, Tim Curry\, Rodney Dangerfield\, Wayne Brady\, Jim Barile\, The Licata Brothers\, Dean Stevens\, Anne Dodson\, Pebbles Flintstone\, Bamm Bamm Rubble and Casper the Friendly Ghost (to name but a few.) His songs range from hilarious to heavenly\, from beatific to bizarre. Bill was the co-creator and Executive Producer of Nickelodeon’s hit cartoon series ChalkZone\, for which he wrote or edited all the the stories and special songs. He also wrote the book\, music and lyrics for the full-length musical “Mem\,” based on the Biblical book of Exodus\, and has produced numerous shows and special events around the Southland\, most notably at the Skirball Cultural Center. \nBrad Colerick \nSouth Pasadena based Americana singer-songwriter\, Brad Colerick\, is a commanding voice in the contemporary acoustic music scene. Billboard Magazine called him “one of a baker’s dozen of acts to watch in the folk community around the world.” The Associated Press said\, “Colerick’s stories are worth hearing… His warm\, sunny\, homey tenor brings alive the characters\, places and relationships in these 11 songs.” His songs and stories have grabbed the attention of audiences all over the country. His plain spoken lyrics and tender melodies are delivered with clarity and passion. \nDale LaDuke\nDale LaDuke was one of the founders of the popular Southern California country band “Five Wheel Drive” that was one of five finalists (and the only country band) in Yahoo’s “Best Unsigned Band” contest in 2000\, and the only group to have their songs in 6 of the top 10 slots in the country division of MP3.com that same year. Dale was flown to the red carpet awards show at Studio 54 in Manhattan that featured performances by David Bowie\, Issac Hayes\, Allanis Morriset and many others. Today you can see and hear Dale in several incarnations\, as a solo performer\, as one quarter of the popular Beatles Tribute Band the Beatunes\, and as a highly regarded impresario at open mics and shows. \n  \nhttp://www.billburnettsongmine.com \nhttp://bradcolerick.com \nhttp://daleladuke.com \n$17.50Read more	\n \n \n

The closest comparison might be to Fishbone or the Presidents of the United States of America; however\, Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband use much cleaner lyrics. Ryan Shupe is roaring back with his new album “We Rode On”. \n“We Rode On” marks a striking career transition and a meaningful evolution in Shupe’s songwriting\, his life\, and the band’s sound. It strongly and deftly combines the rock side of their musical arsenal with the acoustic instruments and virtuosic jamming the band has become known for in their live shows.Like a mad musical scientist (and father/husband)\, Ryan Shupe recorded\, arranged and tweaked the band’s newest creation in his personal studio. “I wanted to create a new sound and an evolution for the band’s music” said Shupe\, “It’s the best album we’ve done and definitely the most rocking!” The album focuses on themes like family\, love\, and maturity. The epic title track\, “We Rode On” triumphantly belts out the phrase “singing songs at the top of our lungs” while the anthemic “Sun Will Shine Again” is a mantra to Shupe’s children. The catchy\, rocking “If I Stay” and “Just Say Yes” deal with love interest dilemmas. “Dream Big”\, a revamped version of their Billboard charting Capitol Records release\, is triumphant\, inspirational and powerful. Being a 5th generation fiddler\, an accomplished electric guitar\, acoustic guitar and mandolin player\, Shupe has been touring extensively across the US since he was 10 years old. He is no stranger to the national stage and the band has appeared on Good Morning America\, E! TV\, Mountain Stage\, Woodsongs\, GAC and CMT.

SUMMARY:EJ MATHEWS BAND
DESCRIPTION:EJ Mathews 2017 Breakout Artist of the Year—Living Blues\, Magazine.\n \nEvery once in a blue moon someone comes out with a song that makes you take notice. Not only did he come with a song\, but he also made a video to go along with it. Texas born E.J. Mathews\, originally from Atlanta\, Texas now makes his home in Dallas. Mathews lived just outside Atlanta\, Texas in the small rural community of Bivins\, Texas. Located near Leek Creek and the Louisiana state line he got his musical influence from his grandfather who was from south Georgia. Mathews recalls his “granddaddy Zan used to sit on the front porch at night and play slide guitar with his pocket knife\, all the while spitting watermelon seeds off the porch and watching lightnin’ bugs flicker in the night.”\nHis granddaddy loved listening to country and blues and Mathews says his musical style is somewhere in the middle\, a little bit of the blues\, with a touch of some country mixed in.\nHe said he wants to tell a story through his music his way and that’s the same philosophy he uses when writing a song such as “Down On The Creek (Ford Pickup).”\nMathews says he has over a hundred songs he has written and has been told by some people his music sounds like swamp boogie and country blues. Mathews says “It’s just me\, my kind of music.”\n“I don’t want to sound like everybody else; I just want to be me. Grandaddy never played any cover tunes. There’s nothing wrong with it\, it’s just not me.”His parents divorced years ago and so he moved to Oklahoma for a spell where he graduated school and then headed back to the great state of Texas. Mathews worked as a truck driver for years and now works in education in Desoto\, Texas. But Mathews lifelong dream of being a musician still keeps calling.\n“So I say\, I will continue to give this music thing a shot and see where it leads me.”\nA devoted family man first and staunch Christian\, the dream has just begun for the E.J. Mathews Band. \nhttp://ejmathews.com \n$15.00Read more

SUMMARY:T SISTERS
DESCRIPTION:Distinguished by close harmonies\, catchy melodies and potent lyricism\, the T Sisters have created a refreshing brew of indie-folk/Americana music. Blood sisters Erika\, Rachel and Chloe Tietjen flow seamlessly between styles and moods\, from roots to pop and sassy to sincere\, captivating listeners with their eclectic sound and soaring harmonies. \nThis past spring\, the T’s journeyed to Nashville to create a compelling EP with renowned artist/producer Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers. While T Sisters’ prior releases delved into personal themes\, this project represents a more mature and reflective chapter for the sisters\, exploring deeper subjects of societal division\, dubious authority\, spiritual renewal and activism through music. Adding to the T Sisters’ self-accompaniment and inimitable sibling harmonies\, We Are Bound features the distinctive playing of Jano Rix (The Wood Brothers)\, Chris Wood (The Wood Brothers; Medeski\, Martin and Wood) and Oliver himself. Oliver says of the T’s\, “Coming from a brother band\, I especially appreciate the T Sisters. The soul of the family comes through their combined voices\, and they create that sound that only family can get. \nT Sisters were chosen for American Music Abroad\, a selective State Department-sponsored program fostering diplomacy through music. The sisters performed and conducted workshops in the Middle East and North Africa emphasizing girls empowerment and the power of music to create social awareness and change. \n\nYoung T Sisters\, Berkeley circa 1990 \n\nIn the last few years\, they’ve been honored to support such acts as The Indigo Girls\, Amos Lee\, The Wood Brothers\, Todd Rundgren\, Elephant Revival\, The California Honeydrops\, and more. Notable performances include Outside Lands\, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, Merlefest Album Hour\, High Sierra Music Festival\, Americana Music Association Festival\, Music City Roots\, and Garrison Keillor’s ‘A Prairie Home Companion.’ \nhttps://tsisters.com \n$17.50Read more	\n \n \n

SUMMARY:ROY BOOK BINDER + RICK RUSKIN (WORKSHOP ALSO AT 4PM)
DESCRIPTION:An evening concert plus afternoon workshop. \nSINGER-SONGWRITER-STORYTELLING-BLUESMAN….. Roy Book Binder has been rambling around the world for the past 45 years! He gave up his Greenwich Village “pad” in the early 1970’s and lived in his “Tour Bus” for the next 15 years criss crossing the US and appearing at festivals throughout Canada & Europe. \nBook Binder\, travelled with the legendary Rev. Gary Davis in the late 60’s….. The Book\, recorded his first solo acoustic Blues album in the 70’s\, which was the first to receive 5 stars in DOWNBEAT magazine! In the late 80’s ‘The Book’ was part of Bonnie Raitt’s East Coast Tour\, which included an appearance on The Grand Old Opry which led to almost 30 appearances on NASHVILLE NOW’s\, Ralph Emory Show! In the 90’s he often appeared with JORMA KAUKONEN (who recorded 2 of Roy’s songs) \nTHE GOOD BOOK\, Roy’s latest release of all original songs\, reached #3 on AirPlayDirect’s Americana charts! #1 was Guy Clark & #2 was the late Townes Van Zandt. Folkdj.org had Roy in the top 3 artists for July 2017. \nRoy has the goods: the original\, the bare-knuckle\, the low-down . . . blues. Who can say they were friends with the Rev. Gary Davis\, Pink Anderson and Robert Lockwood? And toured with Arthur Big Boy Crudup\, Hot Tuna\, JJ Cale & Bonnie Raitt ? Roy can. He has the stories\, the licks\, and the mystery of timeless music in his fingers. He’s been featured on a PBS special and interviewed by Terry Gross on “Fresh Air.” He’s also a regular at Fur Peace Ranch\, where he teaches along with Jorma Kaukonen. When he brings his ‘Tour Bus’ to town\, a one-man blues-fest ensues. He plays and he entertains\, feeding us music and stories\, and the evening is a celebration for us all. \n“…so brilliant at times that he seems to transcend normal approaches to the guitar….Ruskin may be the smoothest technical player around. Flashy\, fast\, inventive and musical and that isn’t easy.” (GUITAR PLAYER) \nRick Ruskin started playing guitar in 1962 and in just one year became a respected professional musician in his native Detroit\, Michigan. In 1964\, while still in Jr. High School\, he was chosen to open the bill for the Reverend Gary Davis at Detroit’s legendary Retort Coffee House. This engagement resulted in a fast and permanent friendship with the master blues\, ragtime\, and gospel guitarist. Rev. Davis was so taken by the young Ruskin’s skill and eagerness\, that he invited Rick to spend that summer with him at his Long Island home. By the end of the summer\, Davis stopped teaching Rick new material and told him\, “It’s time you started paying attention to your own music.” Ruskin has been doing that ever since. \nIn addition to being a top guitar player\, Rick is a singer\, composer and arranger of note. He is known for his many fine compositions such as “Maze Music for Mice\,” “Six String Conspiracy\,” and “Kudah Duxx\,” a track previously featured in Fingerstyle Guitar magazine. He’s also known for his arrangements of such pop classics as “Lady Madonna\,” “Riki Don’t Lose That Number\,” and “Here Comes The Sun\,”\nRick will also perform some tunes from his latest CD\, “How to be smarter than your guitar.” \nRick and Roy will also be conducting a fingerstyle guitar workshop featuring blues/ragtime/pop styles from 4-6pm at Boulevard Music on the day of the concert. \nhttp://www.roybookbinder.com \nhttp://www.liondogmusic.com \n$20.00Read more	\n \n \n

SUMMARY:JIM KIMO WEST + MARK LEGGETT
DESCRIPTION:Two fabulous fingerstyle players with an array of styles on the same bill. One a “Slack Key” guitar specialist and the other a fabulous fingerstyle/slide guitarist who melds the two seamlessly into fantastic arrangements. \nSlack Key” means that some of the strings on a guitar are slacked from standard tuning\, with the bass\, melody\, and improvisation played at the same time\, and is often played to accompany traditional dance or song. Many players use their own special tunings that often remain proprietary secrets. Tonights show will feature this unique and beautiful style of playing.\nJim “Kimo” West first visited Hana\, Maui in 1985\, after a long summer on the road as guitarist for famed musical satirist\, “Weird Al” Yankovic. As the sounds of Gabby Pahinui\, the Sons of Hawai’i\, Sonny Chillingworth\, The Sunday Manoa\, and others\, played on the turntable\, he jammed along for fun and relaxation. Already a devotee of open tunings\, he was immediately drawn to the gentle rhythms of ki ho ‘alu (slack key guitar) and soon began writing his own songs. The rich physical and cultural landscape of the Hana Coast has provided the inspiration for many of his compositions.\nWhile always retaining the heartfelt essence of traditional slack key\, Jim “Kimo” West brings much of his own musical heritage to his original ki ho’alu instrumentals. His style can best be described as “nahenahe”\, meaning “soft\, sweet or gentle voice”\, a fusion of old and new but still rooted deeply in tradition.\nJim lives in Los Angeles where he writes and produces music which has appeared in feature films and TV shows on all the major networks and cable channels.\nJim West’s latest recording “Moku Maluhia-Peaceful island” was nominated for a Grammy. “His Slack Key explorations in his unique and beautiful style\, and in various tunings\, including two of his own invention\, further accentuating his own sound”\n— George Winston. pianist/ guitarist \nPlus on the same bill Mark Leggett\, an artist who spends most of his time doing film scoring\, making a rare appearance performing his original tunes and arrangements. Mark will be playing his fingestyle/slide arrangements of original and classic tunes. Twice Emmy nominated for his composing work\, Mark has written music for Levon Helm and The Band\, Dolly Parton’s films\, the tv show My Name is Earl\, and many others. We recently saw Mark perform at the Wiltern Theatre opening the show performing 3 songs solo for a screeening of Easy Rider done with a fabulous live band performing the original songs and incidental music accompanying the dialogue instead of the pre-recorded original songs and music. Mark’s arrangements of the three songs lead to the inevitable\, this guy needs to be heard and discovered by more people. A fantastic tasteful player. Don’t  miss him.\n \nhttp://www.jimkimowest.com \nhttp://www.markleggett.com \n$17.50Read more

SUMMARY:JIM HURST
DESCRIPTION:“Jim Hurst is one of the most versatile and tasteful guitar players I know. Whether he’s flailing the rhythm for an old time fiddle tune\, laying down a funky groove\, or finger picking a beautiful ballad\, his playing is both impeccable and creative. Accompanying this instrumental virtuosity is a rich and expressive voice with a surprising range.” Mark Schatz \nJim Hurst’s unique picking style and mastery of bluegrass guitar wows audiences and is revered by both novice guitar players and his musical peers. His eclectic career has made him a remarkable performer\, an experienced instructor and a highly sought after session musician. His affability and gregariousness make him one of the most approachable musicians of his caliber. \nGarnering numerous nominations\, Jim received IBMA’s prestigious “Guitar Player of the Year” awards for 2001 and 2002. This award is voted on by IBMA members including his peers and contemporaries revealing their appreciation of Jim’s abilities. \nAfter recording and touring with several Country and Bluegrass artists\, Jim decided in 2010 to embark on a solo career to focus mostly on his own musical expression and art. As a musician\, vocalist\, songwriter\, arranger and producer\, Jim has recorded 7 CDs including: Open Window\, Second Son\, A Box of Chocolates\, Intrepid\, Looking Glass\, JHT-1\, and Atlantic Crossing. Jim’s virtuosity shines as he consistently sways audiences with his deft finger work and smooth vocals. \nJim performs his show full time and teaches at guitar workshops and music camps in North America and Europe. While he occasionally collaborates with other bluegrass greats\, his solo and Jim Hurst Trio performance are what keeps audiences mesmerized. \nhttps://www.jimhurst.com \n$17.50Read more

SUMMARY:MICHAEL CHAPDELAINE
DESCRIPTION:Michael Chapdelaine is the only guitarist ever to win First Prize in the world’s top competitions in both the Classical and Fingerstyle genres; the Guitar Foundation of America International Classical Guitar Competition and the National Fingerstyle Championships at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield \, Kansas. From New York’s Lincoln Center to the Cactus Cafe in Austin\, from Milano to Bangkok\, Michael continues to enchant\, dazzle and surprise audiences and critics alike as he redefines the modern acoustic guitar with his amazing technique\, “soulful” expressiveness\, and versatility as a performer\, composer and arranger/producer. His performances\, played on both steel string and classical guitars\, include musical styles ranging from blues to Bach to country to rhythm n’ blues as he wins his audiences hearts with breath taking technique and the poetic magic of his original musical portraits and landscapes. In the 80’s and 90’s Michael proved himself to be one of the world’s finest classical guitarists; twice winning the coveted National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Grant\, and taking First Prize in both the Guitar Foundation of America’s and the Music Teachers National Association’s Guitar Competitions. He also won the Silver Medal in Venezuela’s VIII Concurso International de Guitarra “Alirio Diaz”. He has toured four continents while giving hundreds of performances for Affiliate Artists Inc.\, and various arts promotion organizations. In 1992 he recorded the Sonata Romantica CD\, (now re-released as “Mexico”)\, which many critics and connoisseurs of classical guitar consider to be one of the definitive recordings for the instrument. Acoustic Guitar magazine wrote “… if I were marooned on a desert island with a limited selection of recordings\, this one would be among my choices…I have seldom heard a more beautiful album. Other young guitarists have excellent technique\, but few have such style and musicality\, and Chapdelaine’s beautiful tone is the nearest to Segovia’s that I can recall.” In 1994 Michael turned his attention to pop music\, in arranging\, producing and recording Time-Life Music’s beautiful Guitar by Moonlight collection (also released as “with love”)\, which sold 250\,000 copies in it’s first two years in the stores. In 1998\, he once again\, expanded his musical range and gained instant notoriety and credibility in the “acoustic music” world as a “fingerstyle” guitarist and composer\, by winning the National Fingerpicking Championships at Winfield. Michael is Professor of Music and head of guitar studies at the University of New Mexico\, and has previously been on the faculties of the University of Colorado at Denver and Metropolitan State University. He has given master classes throughout the world including\, China\, Thailand\, Malaysia\, Peru\, Venezuela\, Taiwan\, Indonesia and at institutions such as\, University of Miami\, Mannes School of Music\, University of Texas\, and California State University. His teachers included the great Spanish maestro Andres Segovia. \nhttp://www.michaelchapdelaine.com \n$17.50Read more

SUMMARY:BERNIE PEARL & MIKE BARRY
DESCRIPTION:The blues is life itself to Bernie Pearl. A guitarist with an upbeat\, finger-poppin’ picking style he learned at the elbows of bluesmasters Sam ‘Lightnin’ Hopkins\, Mance Lipscomb\, Mississippi Fred MacDowell\, and others. Yet\, Bernie Pearl is no hidebound traditionalist. As music critics and aficionados have said for years\, he is a craftsman who packs his songs with melodic interpretations that are new and personal each time he picks up his vintage Martin or National. To hear him tell it\, “I’m not a retro player. I’m playing real blues for right now.” \nBernie\, who grew up in the Los Angeles community of Boyle Heights\, took up the guitar in the 1950’s. Later\, at his brother’s legendary blues showcase\, the Ash Grove\, he met\, studied with\, and often performed with greats like Hopkins\, Lipscomb\, and MacDowell as well as with Freddie King\, Albert Collins\, and Big Mama Thornton. Bernie played duets with John Lee Hooker at Gerde’s Folk City in Greenwich Village. “They were my teachers\,” he says\, “and it wasn’t just music they were teaching. If you took Mance or Lightnin’ out fishing you got philosophy\, history\, and lessons in life”. \nArmed with the teachings of those and other blues icons\, Bernie raises the roof with dazzling guitar solos – acoustic and electric – and with his own Bernie Pearl Blues Band\, which has backed the likes of B.B. King\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Willie Dixon\, and Big Joe Turner. The Bernie Pearl Blues Band has been a popular draw at many of Southern California’s best-known musical haunts: the House of Blues\, California Plaza Presents\, the Blue Café\, Disney’s California Adventure\, and the Playboy Pasadena Community Jazz Festival. Bernie has appeared at major Festivals in Chicago\, The Poconos\, Vancouver\, Portland\, and Long Beach\, as well as in Europe. \nA life-long blues evangelist\, Bernie began broadcasting Nothin’ But the Blues on KPPC FM in 1968\, making him L.A.’s first all-blues FM disc jockey. He went on to host the blues on KLON and KCRW from 1980-92\, helping found the Long Beach Blues Festival along the way. \nHis 15-year relationship with Louisiana blues man Harmonica Fats produced three outstanding CDs\, with the unplugged Two Heads Are Better and Blow\, Fat Daddy\, Blow\, each garnering W.C. Handy nominations in the mid-1990’s. Tonight Pearl shares the stage with bassist/producer Mike Barry who is a perfect match to set the groove for the tunes they perform. \nBernie applied his studio skills as a producer and songwriter-arranger of jazz-rocking violin pioneer Papa John Creach’s critically-acclaimed 1992 Papa Blues CD (Bee Bump BBCD 03). \nAs president of Big Time Blues Productions\, Pearl was named national “Blues Promoter of the Year” by the Blues Foundation in 1987\, and he continues to book\, promote\, advertise\, and oversee blues acts at annual events such as the Big Time Blues Festival and the Blues Harmonica Blowdown. He has taught blues history and blues guitar courses at several area universities\, and continues to teach at Cal State Long Beach\, as well as privately. \nHis first solo CD\, released in August 2002\, was recorded in an all-acoustic concert at Culver City’s Boulevard Music and is appropriately titled Bernie Pearl Live From Boulevard Music (Major Label ML 011-CD). \nFor music lovers tired of market-tested commercial radio and industry-buffed overnight phenoms\, Pearl provides virtuosity\, country wisdom\, a warm voice\, and the kind of fingerpicking and slide guitar work that still gets juke-joints jumping. \n“…Pearl’s music and voice evoke the unpretentious\, truth-telling qualities of the blues. The sparse arrangements that grace this 15-song set only heighten the soulful and spiritual nature of the music. Pearl’s guitar virtuosity is evident\, whether he’s playing lead\, rhythm\, or slide guitar…his version of (Son House’s) Shetland Pony Blues would make the old master proud” \nStephen A. King\, Living Blues Magazine \n“Making blues music draws from someplace deep\,” he says. “I’m lucky. It’s what I do.” \nhttp://www.berniepearl.com
