SUMMARY:BERNIE PEARL WITH MIKE BARRY
DESCRIPTION:The blues is life itself to Bernie Pearl. A guitarist with an upbeat\, finger-poppin’ picking style he learned at the elbows of bluesmasters Sam ‘Lightnin’ Hopkins\, Mance Lipscomb\, Mississippi Fred MacDowell\, and others. Yet\, Bernie Pearl is no hidebound traditionalist. As music critics and aficionados have said for years\, he is a craftsman who packs his songs with melodic interpretations that are new and personal each time he picks up his vintage Martin or National. To hear him tell it\, “I’m not a retro player. I’m playing real blues for right now.” \nBernie\, who grew up in the Los Angeles community of Boyle Heights\, took up the guitar in the 1950’s. Later\, at his brother’s legendary blues showcase\, the Ash Grove\, he met\, studied with\, and often performed with greats like Hopkins\, Lipscomb\, and MacDowell as well as with Freddie King\, Albert Collins\, and Big Mama Thornton. Bernie played duets with John Lee Hooker at Gerde’s Folk City in Greenwich Village. “They were my teachers\,” he says\, “and it wasn’t just music they were teaching. If you took Mance or Lightnin’ out fishing you got philosophy\, history\, and lessons in life”. \nArmed with the teachings of those and other blues icons\, Bernie raises the roof with dazzling guitar solos – acoustic and electric – and with his own Bernie Pearl Blues Band\, which has backed the likes of B.B. King\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Willie Dixon\, and Big Joe Turner. The Bernie Pearl Blues Band has been a popular draw at many of Southern California’s best-known musical haunts: the House of Blues\, California Plaza Presents\, the Blue Café\, Disney’s California Adventure\, and the Playboy Pasadena Community Jazz Festival. Bernie has appeared at major Festivals in Chicago\, The Poconos\, Vancouver\, Portland\, and Long Beach\, as well as in Europe. \nA life-long blues evangelist\, Bernie began broadcasting Nothin’ But the Blues on KPPC FM in 1968\, making him L.A.’s first all-blues FM disc jockey. He went on to host the blues on KLON and KCRW from 1980-92\, helping found the Long Beach Blues Festival along the way. \nHis 15-year relationship with Louisiana blues man Harmonica Fats produced three outstanding CDs\, with the unplugged Two Heads Are Better and Blow\, Fat Daddy\, Blow\, each garnering W.C. Handy nominations in the mid-1990’s. Tonight Pearl shares the stage with bassist/producer Mike Barry who is a perfect match to set the groove for the tunes they perform. \nBernie applied his studio skills as a producer and songwriter-arranger of jazz-rocking violin pioneer Papa John Creach’s critically-acclaimed 1992 Papa Blues CD (Bee Bump BBCD 03). \nAs president of Big Time Blues Productions\, Pearl was named national “Blues Promoter of the Year” by the Blues Foundation in 1987\, and he continues to book\, promote\, advertise\, and oversee blues acts at annual events such as the Big Time Blues Festival and the Blues Harmonica Blowdown. He has taught blues history and blues guitar courses at several area universities\, and continues to teach at Cal State Long Beach\, as well as privately. \nHis first solo CD\, released in August 2002\, was recorded in an all-acoustic concert at Culver City’s Boulevard Music and is appropriately titled Bernie Pearl Live From Boulevard Music (Major Label ML 011-CD). \nFor music lovers tired of market-tested commercial radio and industry-buffed overnight phenoms\, Pearl provides virtuosity\, country wisdom\, a warm voice\, and the kind of fingerpicking and slide guitar work that still gets juke-joints jumping. \n“…Pearl’s music and voice evoke the unpretentious\, truth-telling qualities of the blues. The sparse arrangements that grace this 15-song set only heighten the soulful and spiritual nature of the music. Pearl’s guitar virtuosity is evident\, whether he’s playing lead\, rhythm\, or slide guitar…his version of (Son House’s) Shetland Pony Blues would make the old master proud” \nStephen A. King\, Living Blues Magazine \n“Making blues music draws from someplace deep\,” he says. “I’m lucky. It’s what I do.” \nhttp://www.berniepearl.com

SUMMARY:SOURDOUGH SLIM
DESCRIPTION:Sourdough Slim rekindles the country blues\, cowboy classics and popular jazz standards of pre-WWII America. Whether he’s vamping the haunting refrain of a Jimmie Rodgers blue yodel or stomping out a hot novelty rave-up\, the fun this cutup has on stage inevitably spills out into the audience. A well traveled veteran of stages ranging from the National Cowboy Gathering in Elko to The Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York and The Prairie Home Companion\, this modern day vaudevillian has captured a sound and moment in time that resonates well with audiences young and old alike.  He has a provocative array of period instruments including: accordion\, guitar\, baritone ukulele\, and harmonica. Highly musical. Highly campy. Highly entertaining to all ages. \nhttp://sourdoughslim.com

SUMMARY:BEPPE GAMBETTA
DESCRIPTION:Beppe Gambetta performing a concert of American Roots Music with European Passion. From his unique background as an Italian musician in love with both American roots music as well as the music of his native country\, Beppe has travelled the world and even crossed the “Iron Curtain” to dazzle and charm music enthusiasts everywhere. After eleven CDs\, DVDs\, teaching books and collaborations with many other top-flight musicians\, Gambetta is increasingly known as one of the true live master innovators of the acoustic guitar. \nWhile Beppe still lives in his native Genova\, he travels to North America at least three times each year. His reputation in the U.S. and Canada is reinforced by his participation in prestigious festivals like the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield\, Kansas\, Merlefest in North Carolina\, the Four Corners Festival in Colorado and Canadian Folk Festivals in Winnipeg and Edmonton\, as well as events like the radio shows “All Things Considered” and “E-Town”. Beppe has performed in prestigious rooms like the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville\, Tennessee and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In his career he has performed with some great heroes of the folk scene like David Grisman\, Gene Parsons\, Doc Watson\, Norman Blake and with the band Men Of Steel: an international guitar summit (Dan Crary\, Tony McManus and Don Ross) of different guitar schools with complex musical interactions. In a world dominated by the trends and logic of the market Gambetta’s playing and singing stand out for their intimate emotions\, communication\, research in tone\, sobriety and humour. An inspired music that modestly avoids relying solely on his high level of technical excellence\, but also reveals the innermost feelings of a brilliant\, playful mind that is always exploring and innovating while staying firmly routed in tradition. \nWith America in his heart and his roots in the sun and the olive trees of the Mediterranean sea\, he naturally and seamlessly bridges the shores of the two continents\, creating in spite of the interposed ocean a musical “koiné” (fusion) where American root music and Ligurian tradition\, emigration songs and folk ballads\, steel string guitars and vintage harp guitars not only co-exist but interact\, weaving a deep dialog unaware of any rigid classification. \nhttp://www.beppegambetta.com

SUMMARY:ANASPOND-SLACK KEY GUITAR GREATS FROM HAWAII
DESCRIPTION:The fabulous father and son duo\, recently nominated for Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar album of the year by Na Hoku Hanohano for their album Walk in the Garden. With these great tunings they employ in this rich Hawaiian style of guitar playing you can literally feel the humidity in the air when they play. Rich and thick and beautiful. Plus with their great vocals they have been described thusly: “Like Loggins and Messina\,. . . with poi” by Lanikai Hart-Tradewinds Magazine. Mellow out in your total mellowness with this great duo of Leo and Keiki Lindsey accompanied by bass on their debut performance at the Boulevard. This is one great show.  \nhttp://www.walkinthegarden.net/

SUMMARY:GRAMMY AWARD WINNING GUITARIST ED GERHARD
DESCRIPTION:Performing on 6-string\, 12-string\, slide guitar or Acoustic Hawaiian Lap Slide\, Gerhard captivates his audiences with virtuosity\, generosity and sly humor.  Known for his gorgeous tone and compositional depth\, Gerhard can move a listener with a single note.  Scott Alalrik of the Boston Globe said it best when he wrote ‘Gerhard does not write instrumentals.  He writes songs only a guitar can sing. \nGerhard’s relationship with the guitar began at age 10\, when he happened upon classical guitar master Andrés Segovia on TV. “I’d heard all the pop music on the radio and maybe a little of that 60’s folk stuff\, but this was the first time I’d ever heard the guitar all by itself and the sound just instantly got me\,” he remembers. Ed finally got his first guitar at 14. His initial interest in classical guitar changed dramatically when he heard the music of bluesman Mississippi John Hurt. He quit lessons after the third one. He took some informal lessons with friends and learned by ear\, slowing down LPs to half-speed to pick out the tricky parts. At fifteen\, Ed was already beginning to perform in local church basement coffeehouses\, playing solo and jamming with friends. \nIn 1977 Gerhard moved to New Hampshire where he has resided ever since. Joining a thriving folk and acoustic music scene proved invaluable for the young guitarist. “There seemed to be no limitation on places to play back then\, or more importantly\, what you could play” says Ed. “You could play anything you wanted as long as people stayed around and drank.” When Gerhard was not performing solo he could often be seen sitting in with other musicians. “I loved to play\, it didn’t matter if I was solo or sideman.” During this period Ed began composing and arranging music for solo guitar\, using a staggering array of alternative guitar tunings. \nBased truly on the quality of his work\, Ed built his considerable reputation\, beginning with his debut album “Night Birds” in 1987. It garnered a spot in the Boston Globe Critics Poll Top 10 Albums of the Year.” Shortly after the album’s release\, Windham Hill Records included Ed on its Guitar Sampler (Vol.1). One of the highlights of the three hundred thousand unit selling Sampler\, “The Handing Down” introduced the world to the beauty of Ed Gerhard’s music. “That one piece made me a lot of friends around the world\,” Ed says. \nEd has released his ninth CD “There and Gone.” He was awarded a GRAMMY® for his inclusion on the CD “Henry Mancini; Pink Guitar.” Warner Brothers\, MelBay and Hal Leonard have all released Ed Gerhard’s music in books. His guitar work can be heard on recordings by Arlo Guthrie\, Jorma Kaukonen\, Bill Morrissey  and in the Ken Burns films “Mark Twain” and “ The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” \nEd’s CD “Luna” is featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s 20th Anniversary list of the “240 Essential Albums.” “This soulful album of original compositions rich in melody\, chordal complexity and stylistic variety proves why Gerhard is considered to have the most exquisite acoustic guitar tone on the planet.” -Acoustic Guitar Magazine \nAlong with players like Ben Harper and David Lindley\, Gerhard’s unique approach to the Weissenborn (an acoustic Hawaiian lap slide guitar) is playing a significant role in reinvigorating interest in this somewhat esoteric but beautiful instrument. Ed’s style of Weissenborn playing is unique in that he composes and arranges music for solo Weissenborn with beautiful melodies\, complex chords and moving basslines\, unusual for an instrument that normally serves an accompaniment role. Ed is featured in the book “Lap Steel Guitar” alongside legendary players like Greg Leisz\, David Lindley\, Jerry Byrd and more. \nhttp://www.virtuerecords.com

SUMMARY:EDDIE MATHEWS BAND
DESCRIPTION:EJ Mathews 2017 Breakout Artist of the Year—Living Blues\, Magazine. \nEvery once in a blue moon someone comes out with a song that makes you take notice. Not only did he come with a song\, but he also made a video to go along with it. Texas born E.J. Mathews\, originally from Atlanta\, Texas now makes his home in Dallas. Mathews lived just outside Atlanta\, Texas in the small rural community of Bivins\, Texas. Located near Leek Creek and the Louisiana state line he got his musical influence from his grandfather who was from south Georgia.  Mathews recalls his “granddaddy Zan used to sit on the front porch at night and play slide guitar with his pocket knife\, all the while spitting watermelon seeds off the porch and watching lightnin’ bugs flicker in the night.”\nHis granddaddy loved listening to country and blues and Mathews says his musical style is somewhere in the middle\, a little bit of the blues\, with a touch of some country mixed in.\nI don’t want to sound like everybody else; I just want to be me. Grandaddy never played any cover tunes. There’s nothing wrong with it\, it’s just not me.\nHe said he wants to tell a story through his music his way and that’s the same philosophy he uses when writing a song such as “Down On The Creek (Ford Pickup).”\nMathews says he has over a hundred songs he has written and has been told by some people his music sounds like swamp boogie and country blues. Mathews says “It’s just me\, my kind of music.”\n“I don’t want to sound like everybody else; I just want to be me. Grandaddy never played any cover tunes. There’s nothing wrong with it\, it’s just not me.”His parents divorced years ago and so he moved to Oklahoma for a spell where he graduated school and then headed back to the great state of Texas. Mathews worked as a truck driver for years and now works in education in Desoto\, Texas. But Mathews lifelong dream of being a musician still keeps calling.\n“So I say\, I will continue to  give this music thing a shot and see where it leads me.”\nA devoted family man first and staunch Christian\, the dream has just begun for the E.J. Mathews Band. \nhttp://ejmathews.com

SUMMARY:NATALIE GELMAN + NATHAN MCEUEN—CANCELLED TO BE RESCHEDULED
DESCRIPTION:Sorry\, due to events regarding the Ventura and Ojai area fires\, this show will have to be rescheduled. Nathan and Natalie will look to reschedule at the beginning of the new year. Sorry for any inconvenience.\n \nLive at Boulevard two modern day troubadours Nathan McEuen & Natalie Gelman with their original songs and great covers. Half of the night belongs to Natalie Gelman who performs across the country tirelessly and just released a new album with producers Charlie Midnight (James Brown) and Mark Needham (The Killers) titled Streetlamp Musician after a song she wrote about street performing and watching New York City change over time. \nRaised in the old West Village\, NYC stomping ground of songwriting greats\, Natalie Gelman grew up amidst artists and true bohemians. She borrowed a friends guitar at 16 and started writing songs on it immediately and began busking on subway platforms soon afterwards when she grew tired of pretending to be 21 to play clubs in the city. \nCaptivating tourists and straphangers alike in the subway\, Natalie stopped even the most hurried commuters in their tracks with her powerful voice. She continues to play what she calls her favorite stage while also performing at the House of Blues\, Webster Hall and festivals across the country. \nCompared to Sheryl Crow\, Jewel and Joni Mitchell\, Natalie’s music is contemporary and timeless. She writes honest\, heartfelt songs – responding to current affairs and revealing parts of her inner self with the world. “Not too much about her\, but somehow about me & everyone in the audience as well.” \n“Simply Terrific” 4/4 stars – The New York Post \nStarting his solo career in 2005; with the release of his first full length record “Grand Design\,” to present day\,  Nathan McEuen has written nearly 80 songs\, produced five full length records\, and has independently sold over 60\,000 CDs. The past 10 years has been a non-stop musical adventure filled with over 2\,000 live shows across the U.S.A.\, Canada & Europe with highlight performances including: The Grand Ole Opry (3 times)\, American Idol (w/ Steve Martin)\, The Tonight Show (w/ Hanna-McEuen)\, Music City Roots\, XM/Sirius Radio\, iTunes\, Yahoo.com’s Ram Country\, Voice of America Radio\, Woodsongs\, The Stagecoach Festival and climbing to a #1 spot on Amazon.com’s Americana chart with his collaborative effort “The McEuen Sessions.”\n      While growing up on the road and traveling around the world with his father John McEuen (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)\, Nathan’s first big solo performance came at 14 years old when he was asked by his father to sing a song and play guitar at the Olympic Bid Party for the International Olympic Committee in downtown Salt Lake City\, on March 17\, 1995… for over 15\,000 people\, his face would be on a Jumbo Tron and that he was opening for John Denver.  It was this experience that would forever change his life…\n     Nathan had an early start on his star-studded career. Through the years he has had the good fortune to open for\, perform or work with various artists such as: John Carter Cash\, David Crosby\, Graham Nash\, Jim Messina\, Dave Mason\, Chris Hillman\, Dwight Yoakam\, Carrie Underwood\, Brad Paisley\, Lyle Lovett\, Avett Brothers\, Leon Russell\, Steve Martin\, John Oates\, Vassar Clements\, Kevin Nealon\, Willie Nelson\, John Denver\, David Grisman\,  to name a few…\n     With over 2\,500 live shows\, 20 years of touring\, and nearly 80 songs penned\, Nathan McEuen’s heritage\, passion for original music\, entertaining and performing is evident in every song\, and is best experienced through his live shows and on his newest record “Side by Side” (Mesa BlueMoon Recordings).\n \nhttp://nataliegelman.com \nhttp://www.nathanmceuen.com

SUMMARY:ADAM MILLER—FINGERSTYLE GUITAR GREAT
DESCRIPTION:Approaching his guitar as if each of its six strings were a separate instrument\, fingerstyle guitarist Adam Miller is a groove machine\, creating a sound that invites comparisons to Tuck Andress and Charile Hunter’ – Acoustic Guitar Magazine.  It’s this talent that has seen him play with Les Paul\, Tommy Emmanuel\, Martin Taylor\, Matt Schofield\, Charlie Hunter\, Bruce Mathiske\, Adam Levy (Norah Jones)\, Joe Robinson\, Tony McManus\, Jim Black\, Ben Gillies (Silverchair)\, and the list continues…. \nMiller’s 5th studio album\, ‘Shifting Units’ is a huge offering of original compositions played on both acoustic and electric guitars\, presented in two halves\, ‘Shifting Units – With Friends’ and ‘Shifting Units – Solo’. ‘Shifting Units’ features the same original compositions essentially recorded twice. \nThe solo album features Miller playing solo on both acoustic and electric guitar with no overdubs\, with only some creative loop and delay use on the haunting ‘Prayer For Bel’. The other half of the album features Miller with his ‘friends’\, ensembles made up of Australia’s cream of the the crop jazz and blues musicians. \nShifting Units’ will be a sonic adventure of sorts for listeners new to discovering Miller. “A lot of the time I play live with a band\, especially in Australia\, in a way the idea behind ‘Shifting Units’ was to complete the picture of how I compose and perform music” says Miller who is predominantly recognised as a solo acoustic artist. Drawing upon jazz\, blues\, finger-style and country\, Miller’s incredible and versatile talent as a player\, composer and arranger is clearly cemented on the album. \nAustralian Fingerstyle Champion (2002)\, Miller has played an array of International & National festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival\, Australian Blues Festival\, A Day On The Green\, Jazz In The Vines\, and the Woodstock\, Melbourne\, and Adelaide International Guitar Festivals. He is a regular artist at NAMM (Los Angeles & Nashville) and Musikmesse (Germany) shows where he plays for some of the world’s most respected guitar companies and luthiers. He has also done two tours to Afghanistan performing for the Australian & Allied Forces. \nMiller has featured in magazines such as Guitar Player\, Acoustic Guitar\, Premier Guitar\, Acoustic UK\, Australian Guitar\, and Australian Musician. In 2013 his album “Delayed” was named in the top 10 Albums of 2012 by the US Acoustic Guitar Magazine.  He was also named on of the top 25 Future Legends in Australian Guitar Magazine. In 2010 Miller was named “Guitarist Deserving Wider Recognition” by US based magazine\, Guitar International. \nAdam juggles his time between international travels & Australia where he lectures in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar at the University Of Newcastle. \nhttp://www.adammiller.com.au/

SUMMARY:THE NOVEL IDEAS + JASON HAWK HARRIS
DESCRIPTION:The Novel Ideas are a country-folk quartet of friends hailing from the great state of Massachusetts. The following in their own words charts their evolution. They said that they . . .\n \nwere playing around with a song they’d never performed live. The four friends sat in a room in their house in Brighton\, Massachusetts\, contemplating the song’s mechanics. They sang together\, trying out different harmonies\nand arrangements until\, finally\, it clicked. Vocalist Daniel Radin recalls\, “When we finally got the four-part harmony down\, it was this moment where we realized like ‘oh\, this isn’t just an element of our music—it’s a feature.”\nIt was an important realization for the The Novel Ideas—a moment when the band began to understand their artistic partnership. Since then\, they’ve earned a reputation from music critics and fans for their moving four-part harmonies and rich Americana sound.\nFrom rock clubs to living rooms to festival stages\, the band strives to convey honesty\nand intimacy through their music.\nFeaturing the voices of three songwriters\, their newly-released self-titled album\, produced by Rick Parker (Lord Huron) and mixed by Ryan Freeland (Ray LaMontagne\, Bonnie Raitt)\, showcases the band at its best. Capturing the spirit of their live performance in recorded form wasn’t easy\, but the result is a heartfelt representation of who The Novel Ideas are as a band. Track by track\, The Novel Idea represents a contribution to the country-folk\nscene that balances love-and-loss melancholy with thoughtful instrumentation and\nintricate vocal arrangements. \nSarah Grella – Vocals\nDanny Hoshino – Guitar\, Pedal Steel\, Vocals\nJames Parkington – Bass\, Vocals\nDaniel Radin – Guitar\, Vocals \nJason Hawk Harris experienced his musical coming of age one fateful day in middle school when a friend played him Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”  Indeed\, fate seems writ large in Harris’ artistic journey.  He comes from a long line of musicians; a tradition that all but guaranteed a both passionate and vexed relationship with the guitar.  Though classically trained\, he considers it perhaps the greatest instrument ever created (and occasionally wants to smash his Martin over the head of its inventor). \nAs a young man armed with a healthy prodigality\, however\, Harris refused to confine his ambitions to six strings.  While his peers were trying to learn stick-shift\, Harris was writing choral pieces and obsessing over American avant-garde composers like George Crumb.  These broader horizons led him to earning a BM in musical composition.  But after graduation\, the dynastic power of his forebears reasserted its strength\, and he returned to his guitar.  He went on to produce the first three albums of Americana/Roots band\, The Show Ponies.  He’s played with bluegrass titans like Noam Pikelny and Michael Daves.  The marquees have gotten bigger and the tours longer.  Still\, these days Harris often finds himself casting a wishful eye to the past.  He laments the lost opportunity to collaborate with his uncle John Harris\, who passed away in 1991.  “He wrote sad country songs about heartbreak\, love and shame\, “Harris says\, “and he sang them like it was the last thing he’d ever do.” \nTaking up his uncle’s mantle\, Harris’ songs offer nuanced explorations of life’s vagaries; matching determined honesty with vivid imagination.  His upcoming record fuses robust musicianship with a poetic vision inspired by magical realists like Charles Williams and Haruki Murakami.  His music\, Harris explains\, shares in their “audacious assumption that the physical and spiritual occupy the same plane of existence.” -Written by Phillip Aijian\n \nhttp://www.jasonhawkharris.com \nhttp://www.thenovelideas.com \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:JIM "KIMO" WEST + MARK LEGGETT
DESCRIPTION:Two fabulous fingerstyle players with an array of styles on the same bill. One a “Slack Key” guitar specialist and the other a fabulous fingerstyle/slide guitarist who melds the two seamlessly into fantastic arrangements. \nSlack Key” means that some of the strings on a guitar are slacked from standard tuning\, with the bass\, melody\, and improvisation played at the same time\, and is often played to accompany traditional dance or song. Many players use their own special tunings that often remain proprietary secrets. Tonights show will feature this unique and beautiful style of playing.\nJim “Kimo” West first visited Hana\, Maui in 1985\, after a long summer on the road as guitarist for famed musical satirist\, “Weird Al” Yankovic. As the sounds of Gabby Pahinui\, the Sons of Hawai’i\, Sonny Chillingworth\, The Sunday Manoa\, and others\, played on the turntable\, he jammed along for fun and relaxation. Already a devotee of open tunings\, he was immediately drawn to the gentle rhythms of ki ho ‘alu (slack key guitar) and soon began writing his own songs. The rich physical and cultural landscape of the Hana Coast has provided the inspiration for many of his compositions.\nWhile always retaining the heartfelt essence of traditional slack key\, Jim “Kimo” West brings much of his own musical heritage to his original ki ho’alu instrumentals. His style can best be described as “nahenahe”\, meaning “soft\, sweet or gentle voice”\, a fusion of old and new but still rooted deeply in tradition.\nJim lives in Los Angeles where he writes and produces music which has appeared in feature films and TV shows on all the major networks and cable channels.\n“Jim West’s new recording continues his Slack Key explorations in his unique and beautiful style\, and in various tunings\, including two of his own invention\, further accentuating his own sound”\n— George Winston. pianist/ guitarist \nPlus on the same bill Mark Leggett\, an artist who spends most of his time doing film scoring\, making a rare appearance performing his original tunes and arrangements. Mark will be playing his fingestyle/slide arrangements of original and classic tunes. Twice Emmy nominated for his composing work\, Mark has written music for Levon Helm and The Band\, Dolly Parton’s films\, the tv show My Name is Earl\, and many others. We recently saw Mark perform at the Wiltern Theatre opening the show performing 3 songs solo for a screeening of Easy Rider done with a fabulous live band performing the original songs and incidental music accompanying the dialogue instead of the pre-recorded original songs and music. Mark’s arrangements of the three songs lead to the inevitable\, this guy needs to be heard and discovered by more people. A fantastic tasteful player. Don’t  miss him.\n \nhttp://www.jimkimowest.com \nhttp://www.markleggett.com \n

SUMMARY:BOB LIND ("THE ELUSIVE BUTTERFLY"—SINGERSONGWRITER)
DESCRIPTION:Totally unique and inimitable\, Bob Lind writes\, plays and sings like no one else – and he’s been doing it for five decades! \nIn 1966\, he helped launch and define Folk Rock\, writing and singing the groundbreaking megahit “Elusive Butterfly.” It began an illustrious career as a songwriter that still continues today. \nHis songs have been recorded by more than 200 top artists including Aretha Franklin\, Glen Campbell\, Eric Clapton\, Cher\, The Four Tops\, Petula Clark\, Richie Havens\, Marianne Faithfull\, Kingston Trio\, Dolly Parton\, Johnny Mathis\, Florence Henderson and Nancy Sinatra. His lyrics have been taught in colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada\, and translated into nine languages. \nHis “Cheryl’s Goin’ Home” has become an international cult classic. It was covered by The Rokes and sold a million records in Italy. The legendary John Otway created the rock opera CHERYL around the song. \nBut as great a writer as he is\, nothing equals the experience of watching Bob Lind deliver his own songs. \nIn 2010\, filmmaker Paul Surratt released the highly acclaimed concert-documentary about Lind\, BOB LIND: Perspective. \nIn 2013\, Bob joined Dan Fogelberg\, John Denver and other legends\, being inducted into the COLORADO MUSIC HALL OF FAME along with Judy Collins. \nBob’s last two albums FINDING YOU AGAIN (2012) and MAGELLAN WAS WRONG (2016) are being hailed as his best work yet. \nhttp://www.boblind.com

SUMMARY:JON STICKLEY TRIO + THE GHOST OF PAUL REVERE
DESCRIPTION:Jon Stickley Trio has been making waves with the independent and fan-funded release of their 2nd album\, Lost at Last\, this past October. The originality and sheer energy of this genre-bending ensemble serves as a welcome wake up call for those who experience it. With roots in gypsy jazz\, bluegrass\, and hip-hop in an “exhilarating all-acoustic swirl” (Acoustic Guitar Magazine)\, Jon Stickley Trio combines Jon Stickley’s rapid-fire flatpicking guitar with the sultry and wild\, yet refined\, melodies of Lyndsay Pruett on violin set over the deep groove of Patrick Armitage on drums. The three have fused their collective styles into a repertoire of exciting and innovative original music along with some captivating covers. Lost at Last was recorded in the band’s hometown of Asheville\, NC at the iconic Echo Mountain Studios under the watchful eye of producer Dave King (The Bad Plus). \n“Mumford & Sons meet the Avett Brothers with a twist of bluegrass.
