SUMMARY:OTHER MOTHER BROTHER BAND + CROOKED
DESCRIPTION:Other Mother Brother Band is an eclectic instrumental short-form jam band based out of Los Angeles. OMBB weaves together influences from bluegrass\, world\, Latin jazz\, reggae\, rock\, funk and classical music to form their unique sound that has delighted audiences from Southern California to Yosemite to Colorado.\n It began in 2008 when the group of dedicated musicians came together to play music that inspires them. Consistent gigging and local residencies gave them a chance to develop their sound and build a following of folks who get down to their toe-tapping\, make-your-body-move instrumentals.\n No two OMBB shows are alike as each of these five stellar musicians gets a chance to shine in the spotlight. The band boasts 2-time Bass Player of the Year and nominations for Best Instrumental Band and Best Instrumental Album (LA Music Awards).\n Instrumentals by Instrumentalists.\n Lots of original flavor… constantly creating melodies and covering some of their favorites.\n \n–http://www.ombbmusic.com/ \nPlus Crooked\, a Roots-Folk\, Old Time\, Irish and Bluegrass band from Southern California\, formed in 2012 with the intention of bringing a new\, percussion-infused stringband feel to the Contradance scene in SoCal. After a few years honing their sound and lineup\, and hundreds of hours playing for dancers\, they’ve become a highly celebrated and much requested musical group in their home community of San Diego. Crooked’s members have a wide background\, ranging from Afro-Cuban to Irish to Electronic to Classical\, which results in a unique energetic sound. Crooked will feature music from their recent new album\, ‘To the Dancing Ground’ \nhttp://www.crookedtheband.com \n

SUMMARY:DAVID GRIER—WORLD CLASS GUITARIST
DESCRIPTION:The last time Grier played out this way his beard was just a mere goatee\, see recent photo. That was a few years ago so don’t miss him. Check the dog in the picture. He isn’t sleeping he just got blown away by David’s playing. David is amazing\, one of the planets great flatpickers. Born in Washington\, D.C. in 1961\, a family move to Nashville at age 3 fully immersed David Grier into the bluegrass music world\, and at age 6\, he began playing the guitar. Today\, he is regarded as one of the premier acoustic guitarists in the world\, along with his early influences\, Doc Watson\, Tony Rice\, and family friend Clarence White. Recognized by Acoustic Guitar Magazine in 2000 as one of the Artists of the Decade\, and named Guitar Player of the Year three times by the International Bluegrass Music Association\, Grier has played on four Grammy Award-winning albums (True Life Blues: A Tribute to Bill Monroe; The Great Dobro Sessions; Alison Brown’s Fairweather; and Amazing Grace 2: A Country Salute to Gospel).Having released four albums on Rounder\, beginning in 1988 with Freewheeling\, Grier launched his own label\, Dreadnought Recordings\, with the 1998 debut release\, Hootenanny\, with Dirk Powell and Tim O’Brien (“endlessly inventive and tasteful” – All Music Guide). His most recent release\, Evocative (Dreadnought 2009)\, featuring 10 original tunes and a rich complement of collaborators (Victor Wooten\, Paul Franklin\, Stuart Duncan and more)\, has been hailed for its “deep musical introspection” as well as its “unmatchable mastery of the guitar” (Martin Mull). Other Dreadnought releases include the highly-acclaimed Live at the Linda (2007) and I’ve Got the House to Myself (2002) (“unfettered explosive invention” – Tim O’Brien).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSelect Quotes\n\n\n\n“His unmatchable mastery of the guitar is ever present\, but it’s the emotional exploration of themusic as a whole that leaves a lasting impression. There is evidence everywhere of deep musical introspection: real soul-searching\, and\, I would have to say\, bravery.”~ Martin Mull\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n “David Grier is a willful\, accurate instrumentalist whose every note seems to run through a bright\, intelligent sieve. He maintains an unqualified standard of excellence in guitar playing\, always with a knack for unorthodox surprise.”\n~ Claire Lynch\n\n“Grier sculpts fascinating forms the way air and moisture combine to create billowing cumuli.”\n~Jazz Review\n\n“I’ve had the good fortune to see David Grier live several times\, and while I certainly delight in watching him play\, I especially like to watch folks who have never seen him live before. There’s this denial/acceptance cycle as they try to rationalize what they “know” to be possible with the guitar versus what their eyes and ears are experiencing. . . . And he does it in this self-effacing way that almost undercuts his musical inventiveness [and] preternatural skill.”\n~Chris Thiessen\, Flatpick Guitar Magazine\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttp://www.davidgrier.com \n\n \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:THE WOOKS—BLUEGRASS FROM KENTUCKY
DESCRIPTION:Energetically honoring the sound of traditional bluegrass and mountain music\, with threads of singer-songwriter\, rock\, and jam band music woven throughout\, The Wooks are as at home on a festival stage as they are in a barn in the heart of Kentucky’s horse country. The Wooks: CJ Cain (guitar)\, Galen Green (mandolin)\, Arthur Hancock (banjo)\, Roddy Puckett (bass)\, and Jesse Wells (fiddle)\, were born over some 20 years time somewhere between a high school snack bar\, an Irish pub\, the radio waves\, and a festival jam circle.Inspired by legends and trailblazers like Crowe\, Whitley\, Simpson\, Bush\, Stapleton\, and Rice who cut their teeth on stages throughout the Bluegrass Region\, The Wooks translate the sights and sounds of the people\, hills\, bars\, roads\, and creeks around them into songs and shows that captivate. With both respect for their heritage and innovative originality\, The Wooks are the natural evolution of a sound that has always been there. \nWhat folks have said: \n    “The Wooks are not your average Wooks\, they are thoroughbred grazing in the bluegrass Wooks. On little circles\, these fellas really have done a fine job. Excellent pickin’\, singin’ and song selection is what you’ll get from the Wooks!” \n— Ronnie McCoury\, the Del McCoury band / Travellin’ McCourys \n “I love the Wooks. with one foot in Kentucky bluegrass and the other in a galaxy far\, far away\, they are post modern grassers at heart\, delivering song after song full of infectious energy\, tremendous musicality and flat out joy.” \n— Alison Brown\, Compass records \nhttp://www.wookoutamerica.com

SUMMARY:THE NE'ER DUWELS
DESCRIPTION:What do a Grammy award winning percussionist\, a prolific Irish bard and balladeer\, a master of the uilleann pipes\, and an indie producer/guitarist have in common? They are The Ne’er Duwels\, a formidable quartet of seasoned musicians who weave a seamless blend of traditional Irish music\, world rhythms and a sound distinctly their own. \nThe “real deal” from Ireland\, Ken O’Malley‘s rich\, resonant voice and engaging stage presence have delighted audiences for over 30 years. “He holds nothing back. Whether singing a passionate ballad\, playing a solo on the mandolin\, or explaining the gloriously sad history of Erin his homeland\, Ken O’Malley is all-in\, wide open to the world\, and as true as an arrow’s flight. Ken’s fine tenor voice could carry him through a show all alone\, but he backs himself beautifully on guitar and mandolin. . . .His wonderful wit and good humor draw us in and carry us along\, and the beauty of his songs\, both traditional and original\, fills us with irresistible joy.”\n \nJoining Ken onstage is Patrick D’Arcy\, also from Dublin\, one of the finest uilleann pipers in the United States. Patrick has toured extensively with many well known artists throughout the world and is also a talented pennywhistle and bodhran player. He is an expert on the culture and history of the Irish pipes and as such is a much sought after teacher and consultant. His work has been featured in many film\, television and live theatre productions and was a founding member of the band Flogging Molly.\n \nBryan Dobbs is the “sound” of the Ne’er Duwels. Originally from New Mexico\, Bryan adds the mysterious\, the romantic and the attack that traverses the musical spectrum\, accompanying on the mandolin\, the acoustic guitar or the very creative\, innovative sounds of his Fender Stratocaster. \nGrammy award winning percussionist Forrest Robinson provides the heartbeat of the ensemble. An alumni of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga\, Forrest has traveled the globe to perform with such artists as India Arie\, Victor Wooten\, Arrested Development\, TLC\, and many others. A lover of Celtic music and rhythms\, Forrest drives the rhythm that combines The Ne’er Duwels’ unique\, eclectic blend of traditional Irish music and song with a modern\, electronic edge. \nThe band began two years ago when Ken enlisted Bryan and Pat to join him for a weekend of shows in a casino near Las Vegas and it was there that the magic began. Later\, Forrest met Ken at one of his solo concerts\, another flame was lit and the four became the Ne’er Duwels. \nTheir debut album features traditional Irish music combined with the lush backing and textures of Bryan’s guitars\, locked in by the explosive nature of Forrest’s drumming with Pat’s whistles and pipes hauntingly woven throughout. Ken’s rich voice and solid guitar playing complete the sound that is the Ne’er Duwels. \nhttp://neerduwels.com

SUMMARY:THE BABBAS—ANNIE SELLICK AND PAT BERGESON
DESCRIPTION:Guitarist and harmonica player Pat Bergeson and his wife\, jazz vocalist Annie Sellick appeared  at Boulevard Music as part of the “Hot Club of Nashville\,” one of Music City’s most popular musical groups. This show will spotlight these two fine artists with their own special show of classics and originals. \nNashville-native dread-locked jazz-vocalist Annie Sellick has performed and recorded with most of her heroes (including Joey DeFrancesco\, Bela Fleck and a Mark O’ Connor tour)\, enjoyed stardom in her hometown and toured nationally and internationally.  Annie recently toured all of December as a featured soloist with Tommy Emmanuel. Perhaps her best quality is the organic sincerity she exudes from the stage\, hooking an audience into the stories of the songs she sings. \nRounding out the duo\, Annie’s husband is as versatile a harmonica player as he is a guitarist.  Pat Bergeson moved to Nashville upon Chet Atkins’ request to join his band (He joined Atkins and Jerry Reed to record their album\, Sneakin’ Around) and has performed and recorded with a long list of chart toppers and cult favorites including tours with Lyle Lovett & Madeleine Peyroux. His versatility\, which encompasses jazz\, blues\, rock and finger style\, has led Bergeson to become a popular session musician for several well-known musicians\, including Michael McDonald\, Peter Frampton\, and Tommy Emmanuel. Pat is currently a member of Les Brers\, a new incarnation of the Allman Bros including original members Butch Truck and Jaimoe\,&  former members Oteil Burbridge and Jack Pearson. Pat also toured all of December with Tommy Emmanuel. \nTogether\, Annie and Pat cover much musical ground with jazz standards\, soulful originals and cabaret classics. The pair brings a high level of skill\, confidence\, ease and charm to each show gaining fans and followers wherever they perform. The music is jazz-based with acoustic guitars\, harmonica and percussion but draws upon many styles creating a show that grooves\, soothes and tells stories. \n \nhttp://www.anniesellick.com/duo

SUMMARY:EVAN MARSHALL & PHIL BOROFF
DESCRIPTION:Tonight Boulevard Music presents two virtuosos on their respective instruments.\n Awesome mandolinist Evan Marshall with classic arrangements from Beatle tunes to Vivaldi.  What sounds like a small choir of mandolins playing bass lines\, chordal accompaniment\, and tremolo melodies is in fact nothing except Evan Marshall all by himself. Which would not mean much in this Age of the Overdub except for one astounding fact: Marshall plays all this music live\, at once\, on one mandolin\, with no overdubs at all. That’s four tiny pairs of strings and one flatpick\, plus a stray finger or ten.\n These feats of the impossible are something like what Chet Atkins did on guitar — Atkins\, in fact\, commended Marshall as “one of the few great musicians of our time.” \nPlus great flatpicker Phil Boroff who learned directly from flatpicking/bluegrass legend Clarence White. More tasty traditional guitar licks than you can imagine. A  phenomenal flatpicker as well as fingerstyle blues player and clawhammer/old-timey banjo player. \nhttp://www.evanjmarshall.com

SUMMARY:SLIGO RAGS
DESCRIPTION:Named among the top acoustic bands in LA (by Folkworks Magazine) and two-time winners of the Orange County Music Award for Best Folk Band\, the dynamic ensemble Sligo Rags presents Celtic Folk with a decidedly bluegrass attitude. Sligo Rags is taking the local and not-so-local Folk and Celtic music scenes by storm with a unique blend of eclectic musical influences. Dan Miller of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine says “These guys have it all–great vocals\, lots of energy\, captivating songs\, well executed arrangements\, and tasteful solos.” Their debut studio recording\, “The Night Before the Morning After”\, was called “the best I’ve heard from a stateside band” by Celtic Beat Magazine\, while their sophomore effort\, “The Whiskey Never Lies\,” (called “the best from the West Coast Celts in many years” by Shay Clark of the Irish-American News)\, was named one of the top 10 of 2007 by Folkworks. Don’t be surprised if elements of country\, gypsy jazz and swing manage to sneak their way into the act as well. Award-winning flatpicking and fingerstyle guitarist David Burns (recently featured in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine)\, fiddler extraordinaire Michael Kelly\, and world-renowned bassist Eli Marcus are guaranteed to fill the room and your lives with electricity. They may give you a good laugh or two along the way as well. \n“Sligo Rags have mastered the ability to take songs from a time gone by and make them fresh and relevant for a modern audience. Their passion for the music and their willingness to take risks combine for an outstanding live show.”–Music Connection \nhttp://www.sligorags.com

SUMMARY:GRAMMY AWARD WINNING GUITARIST ED GERHARD
DESCRIPTION:Performing on 6-string\, 12-string\, slide guitar or Acoustic Hawaiian Lap Slide\, Gerhard captivates his audiences with virtuosity\, generosity and sly humor.  Known for his gorgeous tone and compositional depth\, Gerhard can move a listener with a single note.  Scott Alalrik of the Boston Globe said it best when he wrote ‘Gerhard does not write instrumentals.  He writes songs only a guitar can sing. \nGerhard’s relationship with the guitar began at age 10\, when he happened upon classical guitar master Andrés Segovia on TV. “I’d heard all the pop music on the radio and maybe a little of that 60’s folk stuff\, but this was the first time I’d ever heard the guitar all by itself and the sound just instantly got me\,” he remembers. Ed finally got his first guitar at 14. His initial interest in classical guitar changed dramatically when he heard the music of bluesman Mississippi John Hurt. He quit lessons after the third one. He took some informal lessons with friends and learned by ear\, slowing down LPs to half-speed to pick out the tricky parts. At fifteen\, Ed was already beginning to perform in local church basement coffeehouses\, playing solo and jamming with friends. \nIn 1977 Gerhard moved to New Hampshire where he has resided ever since. Joining a thriving folk and acoustic music scene proved invaluable for the young guitarist. “There seemed to be no limitation on places to play back then\, or more importantly\, what you could play” says Ed. “You could play anything you wanted as long as people stayed around and drank.” When Gerhard was not performing solo he could often be seen sitting in with other musicians. “I loved to play\, it didn’t matter if I was solo or sideman.” During this period Ed began composing and arranging music for solo guitar\, using a staggering array of alternative guitar tunings. \nBased truly on the quality of his work\, Ed built his considerable reputation\, beginning with his debut album “Night Birds” in 1987. It garnered a spot in the Boston Globe Critics Poll Top 10 Albums of the Year.” Shortly after the album’s release\, Windham Hill Records included Ed on its Guitar Sampler (Vol.1). One of the highlights of the three hundred thousand unit selling Sampler\, “The Handing Down” introduced the world to the beauty of Ed Gerhard’s music. “That one piece made me a lot of friends around the world\,” Ed says. \nEd has released his ninth CD “There and Gone.” He was awarded a GRAMMY® for his inclusion on the CD “Henry Mancini; Pink Guitar.” Warner Brothers\, MelBay and Hal Leonard have all released Ed Gerhard’s music in books. His guitar work can be heard on recordings by Arlo Guthrie\, Jorma Kaukonen\, Bill Morrissey  and in the Ken Burns films “Mark Twain” and “ The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” \nEd’s CD “Luna” is featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s 20th Anniversary list of the “240 Essential Albums.” “This soulful album of original compositions rich in melody\, chordal complexity and stylistic variety proves why Gerhard is considered to have the most exquisite acoustic guitar tone on the planet.” -Acoustic Guitar Magazine \nAlong with players like Ben Harper and David Lindley\, Gerhard’s unique approach to the Weissenborn (an acoustic Hawaiian lap slide guitar) is playing a significant role in reinvigorating interest in this somewhat esoteric but beautiful instrument. Ed’s style of Weissenborn playing is unique in that he composes and arranges music for solo Weissenborn with beautiful melodies\, complex chords and moving basslines\, unusual for an instrument that normally serves an accompaniment role. Ed is featured in the book “Lap Steel Guitar” alongside legendary players like Greg Leisz\, David Lindley\, Jerry Byrd and more. \nhttp://www.virtuerecords.com

SUMMARY:SLACK & STEEL CD RELEASE WITH KEN EMERSON & JIM KIMO WEST
DESCRIPTION:Slack key and steel guitarists\, Jim Kimo West and Ken Emerson join forces for a rare evening of solo and duet performances celebrating the release of their great new album of Slack Key & steel bodied resonator guitar duets.\n“Slack Key” means that some of the strings on a guitar are slacked from standard tuning\, with the bass\, melody\, and improvisation played at the same time\, and is often played to accompany traditional dance or song. Many players use their own special tunings that often remain proprietary secrets. Tonights show will feature this unique and beautiful style of playing.\nJim “Kimo” West first visited Hana\, Maui in 1985\, after a long summer on the road as guitarist for famed musical satirist\, “Weird Al” Yankovic. As the sounds of Gabby Pahinui\, the Sons of Hawai’i\, Sonny Chillingworth\, The Sunday Manoa\, and others\, played on the turntable\, he jammed along for fun and relaxation. Already a devotee of open tunings\, he was immediately drawn to the gentle rhythms of ki ho ‘alu (slack key guitar) and soon began writing his own songs. The rich physical and cultural landscape of the Hana Coast has provided the inspiration for many of his compositions.\nWhile always retaining the heartfelt essence of traditional slack key\, Jim “Kimo” West brings much of his own musical heritage to his original ki ho’alu instrumentals. His style can best be described as “nahenahe”\, meaning “soft\, sweet or gentle voice”\, a fusion of old and new but still rooted deeply in tradition.\nJim lives in Los Angeles where he writes and produces music which has appeared in feature films and TV shows on all the major networks and cable channels. \n“Jim West’s new recording continues his Slack Key explorations in his unique and beautiful style\, and in various tunings\, including two of his own invention\, further accentuating his own sound”\n — George Winston. pianist/ guitarist \nKen Emerson plays both Hawaiian Slack Key and lap steel guitar and switches easily between them during his performance\, laying his guitar on his lap and picking up a steel bar for an instrumental interlude. This requires a special finesse and light touch because the slack key guitar has lower action than a dedicated lap steel guitar. He has developed his unique style through many musical genres. He has played his special blend of Blues/Jazz Hawaiian guitar for 40 years.. Born into a musical family\, Ken grew up with his fathers’ extensive record collection of jazz\, swing\, Hawaiian and world music styles.\n Living in the San Francisco Bay Area\, he played the folk and blues songs of the early ‘60s\, learning right hand fingerstyle techniques that led to his development as a fingerstyle picker.\n With the explosion of the San Francisco sound of the mid- later ‘60’s Ken also immersed himself into rock and electric blues styles. He was particularly drawn to bottleneck and slide guitar.\n In 1968 Ken’s family moved to Hawaii. Absorbing the Hawaiian culture\, Ken began studying Hawaiian language and music emulating the players of the 1920?s and ‘30s era by listening to vintage Hawaiian 78 rpm records\, zeroing in on the jazz and blues styles of Sol Ho’opi’i and Sol K. Bright. Soon Ken was playing alongside such legendary performers as Gabby Pahinui\, Genoa Keawe\, Raymond Kane\, and Moe Keale. Dividing his time between Kaua’i and San Francisco\, Ken plays many Hawaiian venues and festivals and frequently tours the east coast of the United States as well as Europe and Asia. \n“Emerson writes pieces that update the classic sounds of Hawaiian Slack Key guitar. His unaccompanied songs have an open\, relaxing quality to them\, moving forward in a gentle rhythm..” \nJessy Terry\, Rolling Stone Magazine\nhttp://www.jimkimowest.com

Jennifer’s impressive resume includes countless performances and recordings with Mel Torme\, Doc Severinson\, George Shearing\, Peggy Lee\, Woody Herman\, Joe Pass\, Cleo Laine\, and other stars. She has appeared on well over a hundred jazz albums\, including eight CD’s of her own. Leonard Feather describes Jennifer as “The left-handed virtuoso of the upright bass!” Jennifer is the subject of a documentary by noted filmmaker Andrea Meyerson called “I Stand Corrected\,” which made a debut at several prestigious film festivals in 2012. \nJeff Linsky and Jennifer Leitham have performed and recorded together since the 1980’s. Beyond being two spontaneous and creative virtuoso musicians\, they also share a dry sense of humor. (A recent review in the Honolulu Star Bulletin called Linsky “the Victor Borge of the guitar.”) You don’t want to miss this one!\nhttp://www.jefflinsky.com \n

SUMMARY:NATHAN MCEUEN\, JONATHAN MCEUEN\, AND PAUL ALLEN
DESCRIPTION:Starting his solo career in 2005; with the release of his first full length record “Grand Design\,” to present day\,  Nathan McEuen has written nearly 80 songs\, produced five full length records\, and has independently sold over 60\,000 CDs. The past 10 years has been a non-stop musical adventure filled with over 2\,000 live shows across the U.S.A.\, Canada & Europe with highlight performances including: The Grand Ole Opry (3 times)\, American Idol (w/ Steve Martin)\, The Tonight Show (w/ Hanna-McEuen)\, Music City Roots\, XM/Sirius Radio\, iTunes\, Yahoo.com’s Ram Country\, Voice of America Radio\, Woodsongs\, The Stagecoach Festival and climbing to a #1 spot on Amazon.com’s Americana chart with his collaborative effort “The McEuen Sessions.”\nWhile growing up on the road and traveling around the world with his father John McEuen (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)\, Nathan’s first big solo performance came at 14 years old when he was asked by his father to sing a song and play guitar at the Olympic Bid Party for the International Olympic Committee in downtown Salt Lake City\, on March 17\, 1995… for over 15\,000 people\, his face would be on a Jumbo Tron and that he was opening for John Denver.  It was this experience that would forever change his life…\nNathan had an early start on his star-studded career. Through the years he has had the good fortune to open for\, perform or work with various artists such as: John Carter Cash\, David Crosby\, Graham Nash\, Jim Messina\, Dave Mason\, Chris Hillman\, Dwight Yoakam\, Carrie Underwood\, Brad Paisley\, Lyle Lovett\, Avett Brothers\, Leon Russell\, Steve Martin\, John Oates\, Vassar Clements\, Kevin Nealon\, Willie Nelson\, John Denver\, David Grisman\,  to name a few…\nWith over 2\,500 live shows\, 20 years of touring\, and nearly 80 songs penned\, Nathan McEuen’s heritage\, passion for original music\, entertaining and performing is evident in every song\, and is best experienced through his live shows and on his newest record “Side by Side” (Mesa BlueMoon Recordings).\nEqual parts style and soul\, Jonathan McEuen has defiantly pursued his innate talents as a guitarist and singer\, resulting in a remarkable artistic trajectory that spans 30 years.\nHis first taste of the big time was landing in final auditions for the Mickey Mouse Club in 1987. Appearing on Nashville Now with Ralph Emery\, and being turned down by every label in Nashville at the age of 12\, was his second. This\, however\, ignited his passion for playing and performing music even more.\nJonathan comes from a rich musical lineage\, growing up in the Americana scene his father\, John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, helped coin. At 13\, Jonathan became his father’s musical partner and a favorite at festivals throughout America.\nIn 2002\, Jonathan and his first cousin\, Jamie Hanna\, founded Hanna-McEuen\, a duo spawning from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Their fathers\, Jeff Hanna\, and the aforementioned John McEuen\, co-founded the group.\nHanna-McEuen skyrocketed to fame\, performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and playing The Grand Ole Opry a number of times. The duo got a big break in Nashville after a gig at The Bluebird Cafe from Scott Borchetta ( Taylor Swift)\, who took an interest in Hanna-McEuen\, and offered them a record deal with DreamWorks SKG/Nashville (James Stroud Producing)\, which later merged with MCA/Universal Nashville.\nIn 2005\, the duo released their eponymous debut album via MCA/Universal\, establishing a cult following and resulting in a national\, multi-date tour with music giants Brad Paisley\, Dolly Parton\, Wynonna Judd\, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, Dierks Bentley\, The Mavericks\, Gary Allan\, Dwight Yoakam\, and more.\nAs a solo artist\, Jonathan has shared the stage with world-class artists such as Willie Nelson\, Vince Gill\, Dave Mason\, Vassar Clements\, Robben Ford\, Dwight Yoakam\, and others.\nPlus superb guitarist Paul Allen (Ten String Orchestra) who has either toured or recorded with Adele\, Jewel\, Trace Adkins\, Tim McGraw\, and many other well known artists. Paul has backed up a who’s who of well known artists playing everywhere from the Tonight Show to the Grand Ole Opry.\nhttp://www.nathanmceuen.com\nhttp://www.jonathanmceuenmusic.com\nhttp://www.tenstringorchestra.com \n

SUMMARY:SIDELINE—BLUEGRASS GREATS
DESCRIPTION:What’s in a name? Some (well\, Mr. Webster in fact) might suggest that the name Sideline means   “an activity done in addition to one’s main job”. Alternately\, many people think it’s the section of a football field just to the side of where the main action happens. This band may be an additional activity for the guys and they may stand to the side of the stage in their “regular” bands\, but when they get together\, it’s all front and center\, main stage bluegrass. Sideline plays songs you love. Some are bluegrass classics\, some are destined to be classics\, and all of them are performed in a way that makes audiences understand why these pickers and singers are A tier bluegrassers\, loved and adored by fans the world over. \nSTEVE DILLING\nSteve Dilling plays like he was born and raised in a crib where only Earl Scruggs and Tony Rice played on the twirling mobile above him. In love with the banjo at 10\, playing by 12\, starting with the Bass Mountain Boys\, then on to the Lonesome River Band\, Steve’s career has had a solid\, steady trajectory of success and respect. Of course we have to talk about Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out. You know that Steve Dilling’s Carolina-awesome banjo playing and hilarious emcee work is one of the main reasons you always go see them when they’re in town. IIIrd Tyme Out has certainly brought his talent to the forefront of the bluegrass community. But his work with Sideline allows Steve to show audiences that he’s the real deal in any setting. \nJASON MOORE\nThe bass player’s bio is always last but we just couldn’t do that to the incredible Jason Moore. Jason usually holds down the low end for the bluegrass-loving and genre-melting Mountain Heart. But if you look back before he went wireless\, Jason played with the legendary James King and recorded on Michael Cleveland’s albums and managed to get nominated for four IBMA Bass Player of the Year awards. He didn’t win any of them so you might not want to bring it up when you go see Sideline. But since his playing seamlessly bridges a gap between every imaginable kind of bluegrass\, and his timing and groove are unequaled\, you’ll mostly want to tell him how amazing he his. \nSKIP CHERRYHOLMES\nIf you were being honest\, you’d admit you were wondering what Skip was going to do after the Cherryholmes Family decided to move on from the family band thing and on to their own musical pursuits. Skip doesn’t disappoint. He’s touring with the vocal powerhouse Lou Reid. His Skip Cherryholmes Quintet already plays a stout schedule and continues the furthering of Skip’s love for traditional bluegrass as well as his desire to move the music forward with great original material. He’s an incredible picker and singer\, destined to be called a legend someday\, born in California but raised on the road and he knows nothing else but performing and giving audiences everything he has\, every time. \nBRIAN ALDRIDGE\nBorn in 1981 and raised in Saxapahaw\, NC\, Brian grew up in a musical family. He got started on mandolin at age three\, and graduated to banjo at thirteen. His father\, Mike\, now with Al Batten & Bluegrass Reunion\, was a long time member of the Bass Mountain Boys. It was with that group that Brian first played on stage. His favorite banjo players include Earl Scruggs and Jim Mills\, and his picking reflects their precise\, dynamic style. Brian is also a master of the Scruggs style of finger picking guitar. His wife’s grandfather\, award-winning North Carolina banjoist/vocalist A. L. Wood\, was also a major influence. Brian’s hard-driving mandolin style and heartfelt vocals are the centerpiece of the Sideline sound. Brian’s hobbies include hunting and picking\, and he’s a natural-born mechanic. When he’s not playing music\, Brian can be found at Adams Automotive where he works as a service technician. \nNATHAN ALDRIDGE\n17 year old Nathan Aldridge has had a fiddle in his hand since he was two years old. His first real fiddle was given to him by his cousin at the age of four and he hasn’t put it down since! For several years he has been playing onstage with his dad\, Mike “Precious” Aldridge from Al Batten & Bluegrass Reunion. Nathan has taken a few lessons from the great Dewey Brown\, but for the most part he has taught himself how to play. His influences on fiddle go from great classics like Chubby Wise and Benny Martin\, to more modern icons like Stuart Duncan and Mike Hartgrove. Although the fiddle is his instrument of choice\, he is well rounded in guitar\, banjo\, and mandolin. \nBRAD HUDSON\nBorn and raised in eastern N.C.\, Brad was blessed with the God-given talent of singing and playing music at the early age of three. He began singing and playing guitar in church. Eventually he started experimenting with the banjo and dobro\, and started playing with several different bands across the state. Brad eventually went on to work with people like The Larkins\, Don Cox\, The Gaithers\, Jeff & Sheri Easter\, and the great Dolly Parton. He was also a huge part of shows like The Crystal Coast Jamboree and Country Tonite. Brad joined touring group Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road\, where he was able to land nominations for several awards including Dobro Player of the Year and Bass Player of the Year\, and got to work with some of Country Music’s greatest names in the collaboration project “Country Grass”. After knowing all of the guys in Sideline for several years\, he joined the band in the summer of 2016\, and has brought so much to their sound and show. Brad now resides in Seymour\, TN with his wife\, Crystal\, and children\, Riley\, Jordan\, Caden\, and Wesley. \nhttp://www.sidelinebg.com
