Keith began his musical journey at a young age playing piano and baritone, but found his true passion as a teenager when he discovered the five-string banjo. Teaching both private and group lessons, Keith has taught students of allages, from hobbyists and beginners to professional players. His lessons are customized to the individual’s goals, with a fun and easy approach. For more than 15 years, he served as the primary banjo instructor at Swallow Hill Folk Music School and Regis University in Denver, CO.
Keith believes in a strong “Scruggs” foundation, while teaching students a variety of genres and techniques including Bluegrass, melodic, single string, Irish, folk, jazz, Americana and more. Ensemble play and jamming are at the forefront of his method. You will be making music on day one! Available for lessons online until our studios reopen.
